Join Educelerate May 8, 2014 for a pitch night highlighting some of the great companies and ideas that members of the education start-up community in Los Angeles are working on. Of course, the event will feature several entrepreneurs and pitch “panelists” from January’s highly successful LA StartupWeekend EDU, including Luz Rivas of the winning team Yokyco.co (and also founder of DIYGirls), Craig Jones of the organizing team (and founder of SmartestK12) and Vinit Sukhija of the judging panel (and TFA’s Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation Team). However, attendees should also come to hear new ideas such as ApplyMap (working out of StartEngine), the Culver City maker space The Exploratory and the extremely fun sounding Monster Genomics Project.
There is still space for another entrepreneur or two, with the ideal candidate those that are just starting to bring in outside investors and/or finalizing the development of a product. The Meetup will provide these entreprenuers a forum to present a five-minute company presentation (i.e., PowerPoint) as a means to receive advice, critique and questions from our panelists (including Craig, Vinit along with a few angel investor types). And given our hosts Cross Campus and sponsors Originate, attendees can expect plenty of informal networking and feedback, as well.
